What is Urgent Care?
This is essentially what you are requesting when your pet is "not feeling well" and needs help immediately.
Examples may include:
- sudden hair loss
- lethargy
- coughing / sneezing
- drinking or urinating more than usual
- vomiting / diarrhea
- no longer eating
- wound care (abrasions / cuts)
These are just a few examples that need to be addressed right away and possibly treated with medication.
The Home Animal Doctor of Northern California may request to have blood work or urine samples submitted. If this is the case, a sample will be collected during the visitation and immediately delivered to one of our laboratories. You will be called with the results and a full explanation of them as soon as they are received. In the case where medications are necessary, the Home Animal Doctor will know what medications are needed and explain how to give them. In the event that our pharmacy does not carry the medication that is needed, you will be issued a prescription to be filled at a human pharmacy (i.e. CVS, Walgreens, etc.) located near you.
